It’s a blog about cooking fit, family dinners, and staying after.
You’ll find
- links to interesting or helpful articles about nutrition, family dinners, raising adventurous eaters, or weight management
- tips that might be handy for reference, such as a video on cubing a mango, how to read a recipe, conversions and substitutions
- food memories and an occasional rant or whine
- a new recipe or two each week, mainly vegetables but fruits, whole grains, and protein (meat, fish, poultry) too, and all with the Fizzy Meals philosophy, keeping it fit, fast, and family-friendly
- a place for conversation with others who are concerned about eating healthy, but have limited time or picky eaters at their tables
When we first began publishing the Fizzy Meals newsletter, we included a section on the website called Fizzy Stuff. It was a place to share some of these same articles, memories, and tips. However, Fizzy Stuff became unwieldy and needed a redesign if it was to continue to be useful. Since it has always resembled a blog in content, it was logical to make it a blog in structure with the added bonus of a place for conversation.
Why “peas at a party”? It’s named for one of our favorite recipes–an accidental concoction born one night out of desperation. It turned out to be a pan full of veggies that looked like a celebration. It describes an attitude: fit food and family dinners for the fun of it.
