About Susan

I’m Susan Hammond, a wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, not to mention daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, neighbor, and friend.  For the past three years, I’ve published a weekly, online newsletter with menus and recipes for fit, fast, family-friendly meals, www.fizzymeals.com.

My hopes for this blog:

  • To help families have dinner together.
  • To show that healthy food can still be fun and comforting and delicious.
  • To lend a hand with weight management, when needed.

Things you should know about me:

I’m not a nutritionist.  In fact, my favorite nutritionists are Cookie Monster (because I’m a big believer in Sometime Food and Anytime Food) and Joy Bauer, the Today Show nutritionist who recently described herself as a disgrace to her profession.

I’m a homecook with 40+ years of experience and a six-year journey of weight loss (70 lb) and weight management.

I love food:  reading about it, thinking about it, planning it, shopping for it, cooking it, and of course, eating it.

In spite of the above, I’d never make it as a foodie.  It’s all about the feast, but make mine fit and fast.
